imageWe all know that New Mexico is economically challenged and it’s up to the private sector (Us!) to make things right. Innovation is the new economic driver, and growth companies are an absolute requirement for New Mexico’s economic future. So why aren’t more of us starting growth companies?

What can we do, as women, to support each other in starting and investing in high tech companies? Lisa will discuss and recommend things we, as entrepreneurs and women, can do to help improve New Mexico’s economy.

Lisa J. Adkins is an award winning I.T. professional; an equity holder and the Chief Technology Officer of Food Sentry, LLC (an organization providing food safety information to consumers); owner of Q-mulus IT (an internet applications and services company); and the chair of the New Mexico Technology Council. She previously owned the IT company SolutionWerx, which was recognized as a New Mexico Best Place to Work in 2008 and 2009, and as the 2008 8(a) and Small Disadvantaged Business of the year by the U.S. Department of Energy. She was also honored as a Woman of Influence in 2010 and as a Titan of I.T. in 2012. Ms. Adkins holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems from the University of New Mexico and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Webster University. She graduated from the Entrepreneurial Leadership Accelerator (now called Next Step Leader Mentoring) program in 2005, and was chosen as her class valedictorian speaker.

Reservation Policy:
Advance reservations are due by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2013.  RSVPs received after the deadline, walk-ins and no-shows will be charged an additional $5.
If you need to cancel an advance registration, you must notify NAWBO by 5PM on the Monday prior to the meeting.  No shows are responsible for paying for their advanced reservation and will be billed within 1 week after the meeting date.
