Looking for Funds - We had another great speaker last month - Katie Rice, who heads up Epic Ventures here in Albuquerque. Epic Ventures hears pitches all day long from people looking for funding. It was interactive and fun. We refined our pitches to get the attention of prospective clients from our first meeting.
The NAWBO NM calendar for the year includes all the things that any company needs to determine upon inception and re-evaluate and refine yearly. We started with the dream - setting goals at our July meeting.
As they say, if you don’t know where you are going (and how can you know without setting goals?), you won’t be able to get there.
Katie helped us to look at what we are really selling, how to say it best so that we can pitch it best.
And now to the fun part! Oktoberfest - our first networking event - is on September 17th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Office Alternatives on the west side. There will be authentic German cuisine provided by Heimat House, a new German restaurant here in Albuquerque. The cost is $18 per person.
So put on your lederhosen (not required!) bring some friends, businesses acquaintances, mates or significant others. Let’s get to know each other better and show guests why becoming a member of NAWBO is great for businesses and great fun.
