PRESIDENT’S LETTER January 2012

I welcome this New Year with an eager and positive mindset. 2011 was a year of transformation for small business as we all endeavored to alter our business models to stay in business, maintain our businesses, and retain our employees. Perhaps the one positive effect of these economic business challenges is renewed personal growth. I believe challenges bring out the unknown courage in each of us along with new perspectives. My hope for all business owners is that a “renewed mindset” will give us the vigor to forge ahead in 2012. My mantra as President has been “Stay in business; grow your business.” We stayed in business in 2011; let 2012 be the year of growing business!

Please join us for two exciting events this month. On January 11th we will have our quarterly Meet, Greet, and Learn Luncheon at Bank of the West’s location near Cottonwood Mall. Click here to register and see the article below for details. The New Mexico state legislative session begins on January 17th.  In keeping with our vision statement of transforming public policy and influencing opinion makers, we will host our monthly meeting in Santa Fe. Our Public Policy committee is preparing for a January 24th lunch meeting featuring a “U.S. Senate Forum.”  All New Mexico Senate candidates have been invited to participate. Please join us for this event to gain perspective on political positions related to New Mexico businesses. Reservation links are below.

May 2012 bless you with health, peace, and prosperity.

Kind regards,

Debbie Maestas-Traynor
