NAWBO’S 9TH ANNUAL “SPEAK OUT!”
Are you happy with everything that happened in Santa Fe during the 2012 session?
Come to our April dinner meeting to meet with your legislators and thank them for how they helped your business or share your concerns on how they might be hurting your business.
• Are you satisfied with the business tax structure in New Mexico, or do you think we need a friendlier tax policy that would help small businesses grow sales and employment?
• Have you thought about how the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (PRC) affects your business? Are they doing a good job of regulating our utilities, motor carrier regulations, Fire Marshal’s Office, Firefighter Training, and registration of corporations and limited liability companies?
• Are you an independent contractor and/or do you use their services? The “Employee Fair Classification Act” was introduced in 2012. It died, but it will be introduced again. This creates penalties for employers who improperly classify an individual as an independent contractor. Most of our members are independent contractors and/or use them. Deciding who is a contractor is often difficult and the penalties are stiff.
Don’t miss this opportunity – it’s your chance to speak with your legislators one-on-one at our facilitated, roundtable dinner discussions. Invite everyone you know who owns a business or has business concerns. Believe it – our state representatives and senators really do want to hear from you!

Members, Non-members, and Guests: $32.00 with an advance reservation
Reservation Policy:
Advance reservations are due by 5:00pm on Friday, April 13th. RSVPs received after the deadline and walk-ins will be charged an additional $5.00.
If you need to cancel an advance registration, you must notify NAWBO by 5:00pm on the Friday prior to the meeting. No-shows are responsible for paying for their advance reservation and will be billed within one week after the meeting date.
