Community Outreach
What a feeling to give back! Thank you to NAWBO and it’s membership for taking an interest in doing so. We’re lucky to have such a giving group. Here is an update from the Community Outreach Committee on upcoming charity events and a look back at past events. Mark your calendars.
Upcoming charity events:
At the NAWBO evening meeting in March, we will help Roadrunner Food Bank. Please bring your non perishable food items or cash to help RoadRunner Food Bank feed those in need.
Economic times have been tougher then ever and we realize how much more of a need there is to help others. Clean out your cupboards and pantries and bring non perisible food items to the NAWBO meeting in March.
If you are able, a cash donation is even better. Roadrunner gets more bang for their buck with cash. For every dollar donated, they can provide well over $9 worth of food to hungry adults and children in the community.
A look back:
Since starting the Community Outreach committee in December of 2008, we’ve seen what a giving nature NAWBO members have. Thank you! Thank you!
In December of 2008 members gave over 50 pieces of clothing to YWCA’s Our Sisters Closet to help women in need dress for success to help them through the employment process
In March of 2009 we almost filled an entire bin with food donations to Roadrunner Food Bank
In July and August 2009, members together donated $133 to The Barrett House and a few items
In November and December 2009, we donated a couple of small donations to Big Brother Big Sisters
