Communicators Guide to the Universe
What causes people to behave the way they do? Whether you are managing employees, dealing with vendors, assisting your clients, having a discussion with your spouse or dressing a squirming 3 year old, somehow, some way, every day you are communicating.
Roxanne Rivera is a dynamic, proactive, hands-on business and community leader who will help us learn how to deal with different communication styles, so we can become a better communicators and make our interactions work to our benefit. If you would like to become more sophisticated in achieving clarity, being persuasive and communicating with integrity, then you won’t want to miss our May 17 meeting!
Roxanne is a Senior Consultant with KEY Group, a recognized leader in creating productive workplace cultures, and owner of Syntactics Communication Skills. She has over 24 years of experience in business and communications, including coaching, consulting, and training executives and key employees of companies to meet their communication objectives.
Her clients include Sandia National Laboratories, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Accounting and Consulting Group, the State of New Mexico, and numerous general contracting firms throughout the southwest United States.
She has been appointed to several national advisory committees, most recently by Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao to the National Advisory Committee on Ergonomics where she was the only businessperson on the committee. Roxanne has been an active community leader and currently serves on the board for the YWCA.
As an entrepreneur and former construction company owner, Roxanne secured multi-million dollar contracts in both the private and government sectors based on her written and oral communication skills. Her construction firm received numerous small business awards, including two Small Business Administrator’s Awards of Excellence and several nominations for Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year.
Roxanne has served on the board of directors of the Association of Builders and Contractors , Associated General Contractors, and the University of New Mexico Construction Advisory Council, which she helped to found. She has also spoken at and conducted seminars throughout the country about Communication in the Construction Industry and Women in Construction.
