April President’s Letter

image NAWBO TRULY DOES MEAN BUSINESS!

When you look at the agenda and the expertise and quality of our speakers for this day long seminar, it is clear that NAWBO is not “messing around” when it come to providing meaningful resources and education to our membership and to the business community in general.

We are honored to have Governor Susana Martinez as a keynote speaker for this year’s NAWBO Means Business Day, coming up from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on APRIL 25TH. Other speakers include Barbara Brazil, Deputy Secretary of the Economic Development Department and John Garcia, head of Albuquerque’s Economic Development Department. We also have speakers from our sponsor and NAWBO Corporate Partner organizations providing practical information for business leaders, whether you are a sole proprietor or head of a company with 1 to 100 employees.

This is a NAWBO signature event, and I encourage you to come, and to reach out to at least five women you know who would benefit from attending this day and learning more about NAWBO. Space is limited so register soon. Check out the bottom of this page for more information on this event and to register.

Please Note:  NAWBO MEANS BUSINESS TAKES THE PLACE OF OUR REGULAR MEETING IN APRIL, so there will NOT be a meeting on our usual 3rd Wednesday of the month.

This is a great time ( to 2nd page) to join NAWBO for several reasons.  First of all you get a $25 discount off your national membership if you join between now and April 30th.  Secondly, if you join now, you can attend NAWBO Means Business for $45 instead of the non-member price of $60!  For our members, we are awarding a $50 Gift Certificate for the Bair Medical Spa (Owner, Kristie Bair is one of our members) to the member who brings in the most new members by April 30th.  This will be presented at our May meeting.  Sooo, get your groove on, ladies, and think about those women business owners who would benefit from membership in NAWBO!

Each year our May meeting is dedicated to saying “THANK YOU!” In keeping with this tradition, KUDO and TOUGH COOKIE awards will be presented at this meeting. I urge you to think about the NAWBO members you would like to see recognized for their outstanding contributions this year. The categories and criteria for both the KUDOS and the TOUGH COOKIE awards are posted on our website. Please send your thoughts for nominations to Donna Luke at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) no later than April 30th.

Until I see you at NAWBO Means Business,
Happy Spring!
